Program Description
Erin Ley uses the joy and excitement of Halloween to teach some of the greatest lessons of all—self-esteem, individuality, and having the courage to be you. Her book entitled, Maggie Unmasks Planet Pumpkin is a unique story which exemplifies the significance of taking the mask off. In today's day and age, self-esteem issues plague many children and can seriously impact their learning ability. Through the use of a "confidence building" writing workshop, Erin quickly establishes that self-confidence and loving who you are is far more comforting than trying to be someone else. Erin's workshop is perfect to have early in the school year when children are struggling with peer pressure and the need to fit in. Writing and coloring utensils are needed. In addition Erin will donate copies of her books to the school's library prior to arriving, and 10% of book sales will be donated back to the school. One grade maximum per presentation.
